InSET
My work with schools has involved working closely with staff during InSET sessions to research, plan, deliver and evaulate projects and contemporary arts practice.
Whilst working as Participation and Outreach Coordinator and Access and Education Coordinator at Arnolfini I facilitated bespoke InSET sessions with schools relating to all aspects of the arts centre's interdisciplinary programme. I also wrote and researched teachers packs and negotiated partnership agreements between a range of schools and Arnolfini. Click here for further information.

Watch This Space, Project Manager, Engage, Arnolfini, St Mary Redcliffe C of E Primary School, Bristol
I supported teachers from Reception to Year 6 in planning a series of visits to Arnolfini exhibitions and events. This involved InSET and meetings with teachers to devise gallery based sessions they lead themselves alongside a range of follow up work for the classroom. The focus of this work has been to develop childrens’ higher order thinking skills and teacher’s confidence in the galleries. I also produced a Handbook for Visiting Arnolfini based on teachers’ own plans and discoveries and wrote the Partnership Agreement 2006 - 2010 with the Head Teacher & Arnolfini’s Education and Access Programmer.
Project 7, Arnolfini and City Academy Bristol
(September 2006 – January 2007)
My role was to work closely with staff from the City Academy to plan, deliver and evaluate a pilot project between the two organisations. The aims of the pilot and long term partnership are to support teachers in facilitating a more open-ended student centred approach to teaching and learning in order to develop students’ creativity, independent thinking, ownership and risk taking. I delivered an InSET session for teaching staff and supported one teacher in planning and delivering an 8 week module incorporating a series of 5 visits to Arnolfini.
